FloraParaná

FLORAPARANÁ is a permanent project, created and conducted by Sociedade Chauá, as a result of the technical experience acquired during countless floristic and phytosociological surveys throughout Paraná, carried out by its team members. In addition to the various thematic lists of species, the aim of the catalog is to also provide technical sheets and images of each plant on the list.

Naturally, the enormous volume of data to be covered by the catalogue, which exceeds the thousands, makes it difficult to sort it and especially to prepare the technical sheets. In this way, FLORAPARANÁ is in a test version, and must undergo many changes in its presentation format, in order to seek the best solution for exposing the data. The technical sheets of each species will be elaborated as images and information are obtained, in a continuous process.

Paraná is privileged in terms of the diversity of vegetation types. There are three major forest physiognomies: Dense Ombrophylous Forest (Atlantic Forest), Mixed Ombrophylous Forest (Forest with Araucaria) and Semideciduous Seasonal Forest (Dry Forest of the Paraná River); two rural physiognomies: Campos Naturais and Cerrado; and also specific physiognomies such as the High Altitude Vegetation, the Floodplains, Restingas and Mangroves.

Each type of vegetation, conditioned by specific environmental characteristics, brings together a certain group of species that often only occurs in these environments. Through FLORAPARANÁ you can get to know the species of each plant physiognomy native to Paraná. The catalog also aims to provide lists with specific themes such as: endangered, fruit, medicinal and ornamental, in addition to pioneer, secondary and climatic.

The listings are outdated, there are currently sites with more accurate information, following recommendations:
