Register of matrices of rare and threatened species in the Araucaria Forest

The present subproject, whose first stage was sponsored by  Boticário Group Foundation  nature protection,  was designed to address this need, as it provides a database of seed carrier matrices of rare and/or endangered species, intended to subsidize scientific research and the production of seedlings for forest restoration and enrichment.  The subproject had the logistical support of  Wildlife Research Society  and Environmental Education - SPVS  in the indication of forest remnants for the search for matrices.

Access to the Matrix Database

Bearing in mind the fragile nature of populations of rare and/or threatened species, as well as the objective of conserving biodiversity to which this project proposes, the specific information of each matrix will be made available only to research and environmental conservation institutions, through technical analysis of the request. The availability of information will be governed by a technical-scientific partnership agreement between Sociedade Chauá and the requesting institution, which will define rules for the use of information and for the collection of seeds from the parent trees.

To request access to the bank of rare and/or endangered tree matrices in the Araucaria Forest in Paraná, send an e-mail to society.chaua@chaua.org.br  with the following information:

  • Name of the requesting institution:

  • Address:

  • Project/activity in which the matrices will be used:

  • Technical manager:

  • General description of the project/activity:

  • Species of interest:
